Background & History

Textile designing and manufacturing has a long history in Cambridge and dates back to the end of the 19th century. The town of Galt, as it was then known, had "two large and prosperous knitting mills, the best of their kind… together with iron works, machine and boiler manufacturing, woodworking machinery, household and transportation goods…," according to one historical book of the time. In 1912, the first label and tape weaving business was established by partners George Turnbull and George Hancock.

Today continuous technological improvements, state-of-the-art equipment and highly skilled staff enables Labelnet Inc. to create products, which are among the finest in our field. Announcements

Production of large orders and matching care/size combo labels takes place in 3 Asian countries, depending on which location provides the best proximity to the contractor's factory.

Unfortunately, we didn't please everybody this past year, as the next email shows:

Hi George,

I have all the labels, well almost. ?There is no CC label in this package, let me know what the status is of this. ?

Some of the labels I am happy with and some are not as good as I was hoping. ?Comparing the hang tag to the art that I approved, its a bit different on the front. ?The logo and name seem to be quite a bit higher on the hang tags I recieved than it is supposed to be, and well looks shitty, and cost me over $500. ?As well the imitation leather labels are not even close to nice enough quality to be used, ?I dont know what kind of material that is, but I guess I should have asked what material was used for this label and to see a sample, the word "one" is not centered properly either. ?I will be re ordering these two labels from another company, which is to bad and a big loss for me. ?Thanks though. ?Also the neck tape was not done how we talked about last. ?We agreed that the shaded type areas on the top and b ottom rows would be the same as you had done on the bottom row in the most recent sample. ?I will still be able to use this neck tape though as it looks OK. ? The others are ok. ? Thanks

Wow! It's not often that as designers we are lucky enough to receive exactly what we were hoping for. Thanks for exactly producing the fabric labels we saw in our mind's eye, but didn't dare to expect.
